TERMS OF SERVICE

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Dormie Golf web application (the "Service"), operated by Dormie Golf ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
The Service is available exclusively to currently enrolled graduate students at an eligible university. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are a currently enrolled graduate student. Eligible universities are determined at our discretion and may expand over time. We reserve the right to verify eligibility and to suspend or terminate any account that does not meet these criteria.
Authentication is provided through your Slack workspace. By signing in with Slack, you also agree to Slack's Terms of Service.
2. Your Account
Your account is created using your Slack identity. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your profile information, including your handicap index, and for any activity that occurs under your account. You may not transfer your account to another person.
3. Use of the Service
Dormie Golf is a matchmaking platform for recreational and competitive golf among Northwestern graduate students. The Service facilitates match scheduling, result logging, and leaderboard tracking. It does not involve prizes, wagering, or any financial transactions of any kind.
You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose. You may not:
- Submit false or misleading match results
- Manipulate the matchmaking or rating systems
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
4. Match Results and Disputes
Match results are submitted by participants on an honor system. We do not independently verify reported outcomes. A dispute mechanism is provided for contested results; we reserve the right to make final determinations on any dispute, though we are under no obligation to do so. Match results, ratings, and rankings displayed on the Service are for recreational purposes only and carry no legal weight.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit (match results, profile information, availability). By submitting content to the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and use that content to operate the Service. You represent that any content you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
6. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Availability and Modifications
We provide the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We are not liable for any interruption or discontinuation of the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your account data may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT MATCH RESULTS AND RATINGS WILL BE ACCURATE.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DORMIE GOLF SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY DISPUTES BETWEEN USERS ARISING FROM MATCH RESULTS OR SCHEDULING. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED $0, AS THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
